Our story began over 40 years ago and we have never looked back.
Peter Kiss purchased Morgan Oilfield Services from his parents
Morgan Construction and Environmental Ltd. was incorporated
Awarded Imperial Oil Devon – Reclamation and Remediation Scope
The head office moved from 107 Ave in Edmonton to a location in Acheson
Awarded a 5-year contract from Imperial Oil for Civil works at Cold Lake, Horn River, and Athabasca
Morgan purchased its first CAT D10N Dozer
The first GPS equipped CAT D6 Dozer was added to the growing heavy equipment fleet
Morgan purchased its first CAT 390 Excavator
Awarded the BC Hydro Site C Dam North Bank excavation contract
The first survey drone was purchased
Awarded a 5-year contract from Suncor for Light and Heavy Civil works
Imperial Oil awarded a 5-year contract for Civil works at Cold Lake
Acquired a 21-acre yard in Poplar Creek, Alberta and set up a heavy equipment maintenance laydown
Added the first four CAT 777 100T Haul Trucks to the heavy equipment fleet
Implemented the Pillars of Excellence Program
Awarded Yukon Mine remediation project at Faro Mine
Developed the Morgan Fundamentals of Safety (MFOS) training program
Started the Demolition and Abatement Division
Morgan purchased five CAT 200T Haul Trucks
Two CAT 6015 Excavators were purchased and added to the fleet
Awarded Morgan's first Ontario mining contract for Detour Gold
Completed the first design-build project on the Nabiye Lagoon at Cold Lake
Implemented Lean methodology into the Pillars of Excellence program
Celebrated surpassing 1000 employees
How it started
Morgan Construction and Environmental Ltd. was formed in 1999 where it started as a small family-owned company that owned a few pieces of equipment and employed a handful of employees. Wellsite construction and reclamation was the core of the business which continued to expand into larger projects and new sectors. The timeline above includes key milestones and achievements of Morgan in our history.
