Project Summary

As part of the Province of Alberta’s campaign to widen Highway 63, Morgan was awarded the 0 - 14 km contract. Morgan was the prime contractor on this scope responsible for managing all traffic control, site safety, and subcontractor management. The project included 3.3 million m3 of earth and roughly 250 staff members to complete.

Project Scope

  • Cleared 23.1 hectares of clearing and timber salvage

  • 25,000 ton of gravel surfacing

  • 3.4 million m3 of mass earthworks, associated culverts and environmental erosion sediment control devices

  • Installation of 1,900 meters of corrugated steel pipe in the project

  • Restored and reclaimed 203,700 m2 of earth borrow reclamation upon completion of earthworks

  • Installed erosion control and fencing
